Vegan Krunchy Kimchi is a spicy pickle ferment which harvests the naturally occurring bacteria found in Napa cabbage, scallions and other vegetables. Combining the sweetness of pear with the sharpness of  chilli, our Kimchi is vegan. Vegetable based ferments are very powerful natural probiotics.  One more product to provide diversity to your gut bacteria buddies.

Some interesting history: Kimchi is a Korean ferment. It is so popular across the world as a highly effective probiotic food along with being very tasty. Traditional Kimchi uses fish sauce and hence makes it inaccessible to those who are vegetarian or vegan. Our version caters to you. For vegans who wish to substitute yogurt as a core fermented food, Kimchi is a great option as it contains a large range of Lactobacillus strains.

Process: Layers of Napa cabbage are separated with due care and each one is coated with a spice and vegetable paste. Layered and allowed to ferment and release it natural juices over days. This ferment integrates spices with vegetables very graciously.

Ingredients: Cabbage, Carrots, Scallion, Daikon, Greens, Pear, Spices

Taste profile: Sour and spicy. Crisp. Low on salt. Medium spice.

Known strains of bacteria contained: is wild fermented, so we can only list some of the dominant strains of bacteria found in the food. Beyond this list, there is a natural bio diversity that is difficult to fully know as it could change from batch to batch.

How to use: Add one heaped tablespoon at the side of any dish you eat- added to rice, in salads, in wraps and rolls, burgers, sandwiches, on the side of your favourite meats. Consume daily.

For children, can start with 1 tbsp.

Side effects: Usually none. In some cases, change in stool frequency and looseness may occur for a few days. Persist with usage and it will clear as the body is getting rid of unwanted bad bacteria and toxins.
